Emergency medical technician

Duties and responsibilities
Emergency medical technicians or EMTs and paramedics care for sick or injured people in emergency medical settings. People’s lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care provided by these workers. Emts and paramedics respond to emergency calls, performing medical service and transporting patients to medical facilities. Most emts and paramedics work full time. Their work can be stressful, sometimes involving life or death situations.  Emts also assess a patient’s condition and determine a course of treatment, provide first aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients, document medical care given to patients and ect.
Salary; about $31,980 per year and $15.38 per hour
Education
You need to have your high school diploma, certification and state license. The national registry of emergency medical technicians is the certifying agency for emts and paramedics. Once you complete emt certification training you’ll be required to pass written and practical exams.
Demand for this profession;
The number of jobs for this profession increased by 24% in the last year, it went up faster than average.
                           

Reflection;

This career interests me, I would like to be a emt. I want to be able to help people by saving their lives.
