Presidents Day

Image result for presidents day
Presidents day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. It was established in 1885. It was originally a holiday to celebrate George Washington’s birthday but over the years it changed and now we celebrate all us past and present presidents. Presidents and Independence day are alike. Both are viewed as a time to celebrate and to remember the past. You can show honor and respect on Presidents day by attending to events that are made to honor presidents on this day such as ceremonies, parades or etc. We can also teach children about many different types of presidents.

3 ways to show respect
* Hang an american flag outside your house
*Write a letter to a president
* Make arts and crafts that include presidents and/or the things they accomplished
