Duties and responsibilities
Operating room technicians or certified surgical technologists are responsible for various pre, intra and post-surgery duties within a hospital. They prepare the operating room, make sure all necessary supplies and surgical tools are sterile and ready; they keep track of all items used during surgery to make sure nothing is misplaced, deliver the patient to recovery, clean up the operating room during surgery and provide assistance during the operation. Most are employed in hospitals, but some also work in outpatient care careers.
